Rising costs of eyewear and materials, lower reimbursement rates (these plans reimburse only a fraction of the true cost of care) leads to rushed appointments, limited choices, or higher fees elsewhere outcomes that don't align with our values. Traditional vision insurance creates a higher administrative burden on our staff. As a result, we cannot continue to invest in technology and our staff which is contrary to our values. By removing traditional vision insurance from the equation, we can:

Is this an insurance plan?

No, this is not insurance, it is a membership plan. Think of it like a subscription for your vision care.

Who can join?

Anyone without vision insurance, or whose insurance doesn't cover the services/products they need, or if we are out-of-network with your vision insurance

Is there a family plan option?

Currently the 20/20 Concierge membership plan is for individuals. We do have family discounts! Receive 5% off with 2 family members, 7% off with 3 family members, 10% off with 4 or more family members

When does my membership start?

Benefits are active immediately upon enrollment and payment.

How long is my membership valid?

Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of enrollment.

Can I use this plan along with vision insurance?

No. The plan cannot be combined with vision insurance. If we are out of network with your vision insurance you can file for out of network reimbursement

Can I use this plan at other offices?

  • No, this is Family Vision Care of Richmond’s 20/20 Concierge Care Membership Plan.
  • This Membership Plan is NOT vision insurance; it is a membership program for prepaid vision services offered by your optometrist. The Plan and any discounts included do not cover procedures performed outside of our practice.

What if I have a medical eye condition?

Medical visits are not included and may be billed to medical insurance. Medical visits and imaging related to the monitoring of medical eye care (diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, etc) are not included, and will be billed to medical insurance

Are there hidden fees or surprise bills?

No. Discounts are applied upfront, and you'll know exactly what you're paying at checkout.
